Government Approves the Validating Reasons for a Draft Law Amending the Societies Law

Al-Taj News – The Cabinet decided in its session held on Sunday, headed by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, to approve the validating reasons for a draft law amending the Societies Law for the year 2026; in preparation for referring it to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to proceed with the procedures for its approval according to due process.

The draft amending law comes in line with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision and the National Social Protection Strategy, and aims to bring about a qualitative leap in the civil society work sector by consolidating the principles of governance and transparency, and institutionalizing the process of evaluating and classifying societies based on their developmental outputs.
